Peter was engaged for a fixed term as Head of Procurement for a large Crown entity to reinvigorate the performance of the Procurement Center of Excellence and Corporate Procurement teams. Peter restructured the two teams into one and changed the focus of activity from ‘compliance’ to making a ‘visible and valuable’ contribution to the outcomes of the business.
Processes, systems and documentation that did not add value were discontinued or revised. The changes significantly increased the profile and productivity of the team and increased their engagement with business units across the business.
All of Government (AOG) tools, templates, guidance and capability building material was introduced along with an increased uptake of AOG contracts.
